Garage Flooring Installation in San Jose, CA

The garage is the one room in the house still living on bare concrete, and it shows. A coated garage floor is brighter, sweeps clean and stops drinking up every oil drip. Diamond Coating Epoxy grinds the slab back to bare, fills what is broken in it, and lays down a floor you can park on.

Garage flooring installation

The floor that turns a garage into a real room

Bare concrete is porous. It drinks up oil and coolant, it powders under your feet, and no amount of scrubbing brings it back. A garage floor coating shuts that off and leaves a hard, bright surface that mops clean.

Garages are the bulk of what we do, and every one gets the same start: a full diamond grind, cracks and pinholes filled, then the system you picked. Josh quotes the work himself, so the man who prices your floor is the man who knows what it needs.

Why does a bare garage slab go bad so fast?

Because it is a sponge with a smooth face. Concrete is full of open pores, so every oil drip and every bit of grit off the tires goes straight in and stays there. Then the surface dusts: that fine gray powder on your shoes is the top of the slab wearing away, and it does not stop on its own. Sealing it is the fix, and it is why our epoxy contractor work here in San Jose so often begins at the garage door.

What actually happens on installation day?

The grinder goes in first thing and the whole slab is taken back to open concrete. Cracks and pinholes are filled and ground flat. The base coat is rolled, then either the flake broadcast or the metallic pour goes down, and the floor is left to cure. The polyaspartic topcoat goes on last and you get a date to park on it. The steps are the same on every epoxy floor we install.

Flake, metallic or solid color for a garage?

Flake wins most of the time. The chips give the floor depth and a light texture, and that texture hides dust and tire marks so the garage still looks clean a month later. Metallic is the showpiece: pigment worked through the resin so the floor has movement in it, and it is the floor Josh is known for. Solid color is the cleanest look and shows more of what lands on it. The same choice comes up on every commercial floor we coat.

How soon can I park on a new garage floor?

It depends on the system. A polyaspartic topcoat is walkable the next day and takes tires within a few days. A metallic pour needs longer between coats, so the whole job runs two to three days. Either way you get the dates in writing before the grinder shows up, and the topcoat is what lets the floor take hot tires for years. It is the same finish on every home floor we coat.

Straight answers about your epoxy floor questions

How long does a garage floor coating take?

One to three days depending on the finish. A flake floor is usually one to two, a metallic pour two to three. Grinding, repairs, base coat, the chips or the pour, and the topcoat each get their own step.

Do I need to empty my garage first?

Yes. The floor has to be completely clear so the grinder can reach wall to wall. Move what you can out to the driveway for the day, and Josh will talk through anything heavy or awkward at the estimate.

Can you coat a garage floor that is cracked and stained?

Almost always. Cracks and pinholes are filled and ground flat before any coating goes down, and most stains grind away with the top of the slab. If the concrete has a problem a coating will not fix, you get told straight.

Will the new floor be slippery?

Flake finishes have texture built into them, which gives you grip. If the garage sees water, or you just want more bite underfoot, we can add a non slip additive to the topcoat.

How do I look after a coated garage floor?

Sweep or dust mop it, and run a wet mop over it when it needs one. Wipe up oil, gas and brake fluid rather than leaving them to sit. There is no waxing and no yearly resealing to keep up with.

Which areas do you install garage floors in?

San Jose is home base, and we work across Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Campbell, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Fremont and the surrounding Bay Area. Send the form and Josh will let you know when he can come out and look at the slab.
