Residential flooring installation
Your slab is already a floor. Let it show
An epoxy floor inside the house is seamless. No grout lines, no planks to lift, no carpet to soak up a spill. It is warm enough underfoot for a studio or a gym, hard enough for a laundry room or a workshop, and it wipes clean.
Josh comes out, looks at the slab and talks through the room. An entryway or a studio often goes metallic. A laundry room, a patio or a workshop usually goes flake. Either way the concrete gets a full diamond grind first, so the floor stays down for years.

Which rooms can be coated?
Any room on a slab. Garages are the obvious one, then studios, home gyms, laundry rooms, mud rooms, workshops, covered patios and converted garages. If the concrete is sound and you can clear the room for a few days, it is a candidate. Our San Jose epoxy contractor work runs from the garage right through the house.
What does a metallic floor look like in a living space?
Like polished stone that moves. The copper floor pictured here is a hand worked pour, and in a room with windows the veins change through the day as the light shifts. It suits an entry, a studio or an open plan room where the floor is meant to be seen. Read how Josh pours metallic epoxy floors before you pick a palette.

It comes up, and whatever it left behind comes off. Carpet glue, tile thinset, old paint and years of stains are ground away with the top of the slab, then the cracks and pinholes are filled and ground flat. That is the before and after pictured here: the same room, with the prep done properly. It is the same start every epoxy flooring install gets.
How do you live on an epoxy floor?
Easily. Sweep it, mop it, wipe up spills. Felt pads under chair legs keep a gloss finish clean of scuffs, and rugs sit on it the way they would on tile. The polyaspartic topcoat holds its color in sunlight through a window or an open door, and a worn floor can be recoated years down the line instead of replaced. Most homeowners start with the garage floor and come back for the next room.

Straight answers about your epoxy floor questions
How long is a room out of use?
Two to three days for most rooms, longer for a big metallic pour. The floor is walkable the day after the topcoat, and furniture goes back a few days later. Josh gives you the dates at the estimate.
Can you coat over tile or carpet glue?
The tile or carpet comes up first, then the grinder takes the thinset or the glue off with the top of the slab. Epoxy bonds to open concrete, never to leftovers.
Is an epoxy floor cold?
It is a thin coating on the slab, so it feels like the concrete under it, similar to tile. Rugs work fine on it, and a garage or studio is usually warmer than a bare slab because the surface is sealed.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
Once cured, yes. The floor is sealed, non porous and easy to clean, which is why it suits mud rooms and laundry rooms. Nobody is in the room while the resin cures.
Can I get a non slip finish?
Yes. Flake floors have texture built in, and a fine non slip additive can go into any topcoat where the floor sees water.
Where do you install residential floors?
San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Campbell, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Fremont and across the Bay Area. Send the form and Josh will let you know when he can come out.
